 The
Bartram & Brakenhoff Yacht Brokerage
Firm was established by J. Burr Bartram,
Jr., and Bruce R. Brakenhoff, Sr. in
December of 1967, which at that time
operated out of a single location in
Greenwich, Connecticut, until 1980,
when a second office was opened in Newport,
Rhode Island, which then became the
Corporate Headquarters. In 1996, David
C. Lacz joined the firm as a Yacht Broker
working out of the Newport, RI office
and in 1998 Mr. Lacz purchased the firm
from Mr. Bartram and Mr. Brakenhoff.
Since the new ownership, in 2000
an additional office was opened in
Ft. Lauderdale in order to service
one of the largest yachting communities
in the world. To further service our
clientele; Bartram & Brakenhoff
opened its first ever Charter Fleet
and Management Division in 2003, operating
out of Newport, RI and managed by
Pila Pexton. In 2009 we expanded our
Charter Fleet Operations by opening
a division out of Ft. Lauderdale location,
managed by Kaisa Joy Pace. To complement
our sales & charter clients, in
2010 we decided to create a “Crew
Placement Division” which is
also managed by Kaisa Joy Pace at
out Ft. Lauderdale, Florida Facilities.
In 2010 we expanded our services into
the GCC region with a presence based
out of Dubai, U.A.E., managed by Philippe
Brandligt. At the present time, Bartram
& Brakenhoff has 10 licensed yacht
brokers, four assistants, computer
(IT) staff and various yacht captains
helping out and working between all
locations.
