Alex
G. Clarke grew up in Darien,
Connecticut on the shores
of Long Island Sound while
spending summers in Marion,
MA and Martha’s
Vineyard where his love
for the ocean began. Endless
hours spent fishing with
his father on the shores
of New England created
a bond that he would form
into a career based on
the water.
After graduating from
the University of Miami
with a major in International
Finance & Marketing,
and Oceanography Alex
alternated careers between
yacht crew and as a financial
analyst in Manhattan,
finally deciding on a
career as a yacht broker
– the best of both
worlds. Alex traveled
extensively as yacht crew
from the West coast of
Mexico to Turkey, Maine
to Venezuela and almost
everything in between
learning the business
from the bottom up. Offshore
fishing in the canyons
based out of Montauk,
NY for tuna, marlin, and
shark on the largest sportfish
boat in the world for
over three years was a
dream come true.
Moving ashore to settle
down, he started his career
in Yacht Management at
Fraser Yachts dealing
with IMO, ISM, ISPS, class
societies, flag states
and crew placement issues.
Gaining valuable knowledge
he transitioned smoothly
to the sales division
as a yacht broker where
he mentored under some
of the best in the industry.
After gaining sales experience
in the mega yacht industry
with Fraser, Alex moved
over to Bartram &
Brakenhoff, a family run
business started by his
Uncle Joe Bartram, Jr.
over 40 years ago where
he is proud to continue
the tradition of excellence,
honesty & integrity.
In his free time Alex
enjoys cooking, fishing,
coaching lacrosse, and
the gym. He has a passion
for University of Miami
football and anything
to do with the beach or
ocean.
