Born
in the San Francisco Bay area, Kaisa
has been an avid sailor since the
age of 10. As a young girl she spent
two years cruising onboard a 38' sailboat
from California to the Caribbean.
Her travels took her through Mexico,
Costa Rica, the Panama Canal, San
Blas Islands, Colombia, Venezuela,
and finally the entire Caribbean.
This fueled her desire to pursue travel
and yachting which led her to becoming
a licensed Captain and Sailing Instructor
in her early twenties.
Since, Kaisa has immersed herself
in all aspects of yachting, including
Charter Fleet Manager, Sailing Instructor,
Chief Stewardess, Crew Placement Agent
and Skipper/ Whale Research assistant.
She has successfully combined her
love of all things on and in the water
and travel into many challenging career
opportunities. As a Charter Fleet
Manager in the Abaco Bahamas, Kaisa
worked with both owners and charter
guests to ensure quality vacations.
She spent multiple seasons in the
Bahamas and South Pacific skippering
and assisting research for The Center
for Cetacean Research and Conservation
studying Humpback and Beaked Whales.
When she finally settled down on land,
Kaisa used her onboard experience
to place crew on many notable charter
and private yachts, which finally
led to her position in Charter Management.
With a varied fleet ranging in size
from 80-200 feet, Kaisa handled charters
from the Pacific North West to the
Mediterranean and all the legalities
and intricate details that differ
with the cruising areas.
Previously with Fraser Yachts Charter
Marketing, Kaisa took a short hiatus
to start a family before joining Bartram
and Brakenhoff. Always eager to utilize
her strong understanding of vessel
operations and international travel,
Kaisa draws from her years of onboard
and land-based experience to provide
the ultimate charter experience.
In her spare time Kaisa enjoys her
family and spending time between her
homes in Fort Lauderdale, the Bahamas
and New Mexico.
