Andrew
joined Bartram & Brakenhoff
in 2010 and will be working
summers in Newport, RI and the
rest of the year in Ft. Lauderdale,
FL.
Andrew grew up around the
water, spending summers in
Mattapoisett, MA on Buzzards
Bay and the rest of the year
in Darien, CT on Long Island
Sound. He has been on or near
the water most of his life,
both sailing and fishing.
Andrew has sailed in New
England, Long Island, Canada,
the Caribbean, Denmark, Sweden,
Norway, Finland and California.
He has spent equal time on
powerboats and motor-yachts,
pursuing his passion for inshore
and deep sea fishing. He has
years of experience fishing
for striped bass and bluefish
in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
He worked multiple summers
in Montauk, NY on private
sport-fishing yachts chasing
giant and bigeye tuna, swordfish,
marlin, and sharks, and has
fished in fresh and salt water
in Florida and California.
For a 13-month period he worked
on a commercial lobster boat
in Darien, CT.
Andrew has his bareboat charter
certification and has been
at the helm for many memorable
voyages with family and friends.
He is also an avid open water
swimmer and amateur endurance
athlete.
His previous employment includes
positions at IBM and Lever
Brothers before working as
the executive assistant to
Paul W. Adams, a well-known
Trans Atlantic Racer and yachtsman.
Subsequently, Andrew lived
in Mill Valley, California
where he founded his own company
that imported fine furniture
from Indonesia, which was
sold through retailers in
the U.S. After selling his
business, he continued to
work in the furniture industry
for the next 5 years and spent
most of his free time on boats
and around the water.
Andrew attended Avon Old
Farms School in Avon, CT,
The Brunswick School in Greenwich,
CT and Emory University in
Atlanta, GA where he graduated
in 1991.
